This Friday, December 9, Ms. Paula Mitre, Level I Instructor, will offer the following program: “La Musica en el Mexico del Siglo XX”. Paula will share information about several important Mexican musicians from the Twentieth Century. She is planning on playing samples of their pieces. It sounds very interesting so please join us after class on Friday. Your teachers will let you know the location.
In addition, if you have an idea for a future program please let us know! We are always looking for new and interesting presentations for students to enjoy.
Know Anyone Still Interested In Classes?
We encourage you to continue spreading the word about our language classes. We still have openings in all three languages. Please direct any potential student to the La Causerie website www.lacauserie.org for more information and THANK YOU to the students currently participating. We realize a majority of our enrollment is due to continual support and word of mouth from our members.
Holiday Fête and Break
This year’s Holiday Party will be at noon on Friday, December 14, right before we break for the winter holidays. Food will be potluck style so any holiday favorites you want to share would be greatly appreciated!
Classes will resume on January 4, 2013.
100-Year Anniversary of La Causerie
In preparation of La Causerie’s 100-year anniversary celebration we would like to honor our current students and teachers by taking a group photo and we would also like to recognize those of you who have participated in the program over the years. If you are unable to stay for the Fete, please stop by on Friday, December 14 for the group picture.
Any purchase made through Amazon benefits La Causerie. Please use our web page at www.lacauserie.org, go to the bottom of the page and click on Amazon. La Causerie receives a percentage of your purchase amount.
Although it is 70 today, wintery weather is on its way. La Causerie follows the snow day guidelines used by the Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD). If the weather is inclement, please check the local news and radio for school closings. If SMSD has a snow day- so does La Causerie!
Enjoy the weekly coffee and snacks? Please remember that members donate these items. If you are interested in volunteering snacks, there is a sign up sheet for Friday mornings in the Social Room. You will not be expected to feed the whole school, as three or four other members will contribute too. La Causerie provides the coffee and tea and we ask for donations to help cover the beverage costs, which are not allotted in the La Causerie budget. All contributions are appreciated.
We have been asked to remind students to please refrain from parking in the spots in front of the Crestwood Shops.
