Classes Resume (Happy New Year!)
We looking forward to seeing everyone this Friday, January 7th, when classes resume after our long vacation. Some of you may have been industrious and kept up with your studies, but just in case you had other things to do, check the wiki for your homework assignment and start reviewing! http://lacauserie.wikispaces.com/
We still need evaluation forms. If you haven’t already filled yours out, please bring it with you to class. The teachers welcome this information and find it helpful. It also will help the school identify any gaps in the curriculum or bring to light any problems that may have arisen. In the past, La Causerie has relied heavily on our suggestion box, but these new evaluation forms will canvass all of the students, and will help immensely by letting us know how we are doing. Thank you for taking a few minutes of your day to help us out on this. Forms can be turned into Amanda Hassett.
Treats for the Social Room
If you have made a new year’s resolution to lose weight and have any remaining holiday treats you want to get rid of, bring them to the Social Room whether you have signed up or not. Or bring healthy treats so you don’t eat the high calorie stuff.
Thanks to our social chair, Joan Adam, for all her work in organizing a very enjoyable holiday party on December 17th, and thank you to all who brought food. Barbara Shaw brought two bouche de noel cakes and Doug Eikermann brought flan. We had a very good turnout with an estimate of more than 60 members. It’s a great opportunity to talk to each other a bit more than we usually have time for.
Because of the generosity of our members, each of our teachers and Amanda received a gift and a $100 bonus as an expression of our appreciation for the fine job that they do. Thanks to all of you who contributed to the holiday bonus fund.
